I have been practicing optometry for 15 years. The first three years I served on active duty in the U.S. Army and the next four years I was employed by other ODs. Then I was able to take over a small, part-time practice. After one year, I decided to put my full-time effort into building my practice. Over the next 3 years I had two kids while just maintaining my practice.

Following that, I started focusing on ways to really grow my practice. It was about that time that I received a letter from a fellow optometrist about Sterling, so I returned the postcard to get the free DVD. Having two small children and a solo practice left me feeling like I had no time for anything else - let alone to consider new ideas. . . That’s why it took me about a year and a half before I got around to actually watching the DVD. Well, thankfully I finally did in January of 2006. I could personally relate to almost every topic discussed in the video. After watching it, I called Sterling the next day and scheduled my free consultation.

The next month I went to Sterling's training center in Glendale, California to begin my executive training. I decided to have a Sterling consultant come into my office to do an intensive training session with my staff and me. That was a spark that we needed. Our office organization and communication was brought up to speed on the spot. Our whole team got to learn and understand these ideas from an expert in the field, not just from me. That made a huge difference. Ever since then, we have been blowing away our numbers from last year. The last four months of every year had always been a downward trend with maybe only a slight increase from the previous year. However this year my production from September, October, and November was up an average of 53% from last year. I can't wait to see our numbers for December.

The tools I've learned from Sterling have been so valuable that they aren't confined just to my practice. All that technology they taught me is the business and management training that I never had in optometry school. But it also applies to my personal finances, managing other business ventures and even dealing with people in general.

Whether you are just starting out or you need a new outlook on your established practice, I recommend calling Sterling at (800) 933-7538 to get their free DVD and see if you can relate to it. It just might change your life too.

Sincerely,

Valerie A. Colborn, OD
